Not all interventions are necessary. Sometimes an intervention will make no difference and may even make things worse.
Interventions can help prevent issues or deal with them when they arise. However, sometimes an intervention is unnecessary or may even have negative consequences. Interventions used as preventative measures (such as spraying crops in case of a pest outbreak, or vaccinating livestock) also may not be needed, if your chances of not having an outbreak without the intervention are very small.
You need to know what would happen without an intervention to decide whether it is needed or necessary.
BEWARE when someone says that an “intervention is needed”.
REMEMBER: The intervention might not be needed. Waiting to see what happens is sometimes a better choice.
