“Old is better!”

Just because an intervention is widely practiced or has been used for a long time, it does not mean that it is beneficial or safe.

We often believe that interventions that have been used for a long time or are widely practiced must work and must be safe. But that’s often not the case.

BEWARE of claims that an intervention works or is safe just because it has been used for a long time or used by a lot of people.

REMEMBER: Think about whether the intervention has been tested in fair comparisons.
