Popular management interventions, techniques or models that are widely used (or have been used for a long time) are often assumed to work. Sometimes, however, they may be ineffective or even harmful.

Do not assume that interventions are effective simply because they are popular or widely used, unless this has been shown in research that involves a fair comparison of interventions
