Nutrition
Taking more of a nutrition intervention may increase harms without increasing how much it helps.
It may seem to make sense that if a nutrition intervention is helpful, more of it may be even more helpful. But increasing the dose (or amount) of a nutrition intervention may increase harms, without increasing how much it helps. You can have “too much of a good thing”.
For example, vitamin D is essential for health, but too much of it can damage your bones, heart and kidneys. Similarly, too much of most nutrition supplements can be harmful.
BEWARE of claims that using more of a nutrition intervention is better just because it is believed to be helpful.
REMEMBER: More is not necessarily better.
