Misleading abstracts

Abstracts alone do not provide evidence sufficient to base clinical decisions on.

The condensed nature of abstracts restricts the amount of information conveyed within them. This means they cannot provide details surrounding the methods used, the results discovered, and any limitations to the study. When compiling studies on a given topic and deciding which pieces of evidence are suitable for informing a clinical decision, it is important to look at the full paper and not be misled by abstracts.
